Catawba Catfish Club Tourney Results
Lake Wateree 5-12-12 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our last tournament of the 2011/2012 Season on Saturday May 12,2012 on Lake Wateree,S.C..We had 32 boats show up with 70 paying anglers and several kids competing for a payout of $1400 and a Big Fish Pot of $320.
We had perfect fishing weather for the day with a low of 50 degrees and a high in the mid 70s with a slight breeze blowing most of the day.The bite was not real good for Wateree standards but teams found some biting fish although the heavyweights seemed to take the day off.We had 27 of the 32 teams weigh in their catch for the day.
In the end of the 9 hour tournament the team of Team Craig took home the win and the Big Fish Pot earning them $560 for the win and $320 for the Big Fish Pot.
Team DMD won the Points Chase by capping it off with a great 3rd Place finish to cap off a stellar year for that team.They collected $423 for the win from the season long points fund.This was there 1st Championship after placing very high in last years chase.

Lake Wylie 4-14-12 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club held our 8th of 9 events today[4-24-12} on Lake Wylie.
We had 16 boats show up to fish today consisting of 30 anglers competing for a total pot of $600 and a Big Fish Pot of $150.We had cool temps this morning at blast off and it turned out to be a very nice day weather wise other than a steady wind blowing most of the day.Nice weather this time of the year means one thing on Wylie and that is Pleasure Boat Traffic and they were out in full force today making fishing tough especially in the afternoon hours.
In the end the team of Team DMD pulled out the win with a 3 fish Stringer of 47.70 and also getting Big Fish of the day with a 28.30 lb Blue,they had it on their side today,Mike said as they were reeling in their lines right at quitting time to head back to the weigh in,he picked up a rod to reel it in and the big fish hit on the way to the boat.
Team DMD had a great day picking up the Win,the Big Fish Pot and taking over the points lead for the first time with one tourney left in the season.

Fishing Creek 3-17-12 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 7th tournament of the 2011/2012 season today{3-17-12} on Fishing Creek Reservoir,SC..We had 20 Boats with 44 paying anglers fishing for a Total Pot of $880 and a Big Fish Pot of $200.
The weather was very nice with a light and variable wind with temps reaching into the lower 80s.It looked as if about ½ the field made the run to river section this morning and the the teams that made that choice made the right call.The top 8 boats were all fishing the very northern end or river section of the lake.All the folks that stayed south reported a very bad bite and fish caught drifting were either very small or none at all.
In the end the Team of Team Hawg Seekers pulled out the win with a 3 fish stringer weighing in at 43.95 lbs and Team Henderson won the Big Fish Pot with a 18.70 lb Blue..We had 14 of the 20 boats weigh in fish.
A lot of folks were expecting a heavier weigh in after this weeks prefishing where at least 2 teams fishing yesterday had 3 fish totals over 75 lbs including a 60 lb Blue caught by Team Fish Bonz and another team that had 3 fish over 25lbs.

Lake Wateree 2-25-12 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 6 Tournament of the 2011/2012 season today {2-25-12} on Lake Wateree,SC..We had 66 paying anglers and 7 kids fishing to make up the 29 Boat field.All were fishing for a pot of $1320 and a Big Fish Pot of $280.
We had cold temps from a cold front move in the night before that brought winds forcasted to 20/25 mph with gust to 40 mph throughout the day.The weatherman did not guess wrong on this one,Wateree was probably as rough as I have ever seen it.
In the end all the anglers were safe and we had another exciting tournament as 21 of the 29 boats weighed in fish.
The Team of Reelin the Blues led by Jeff Manning pulled out another victory on Wateree with an impressive 3 Fish weigh in of 94.10.Team Polecat won the Big Fish Pot with a 41.35 lb Blue.
We had a Lake Hartwell area team come over and fish Wateree for the very first time and they cam away with 3rd Place finish on their first trip to the lake,Congrats guys and we appreciate you all coming over and fishing with us.

Lake Wylie 1-21-12 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 5th tournament of the 2011-2012 season today on Lake Wylie,SC..We had 22 boats with 43 anglers show up to fish.The weather was nasty all day long with a steady rain most of the day and a stiff breeze thru the morning hours and then it laid down some after lunch till the end.The anglers were competing for a total pot of $860 and a Big fish pot of $200.
In the end we had 20 of 22 teams weigh in their 3 fish limit.There was a good many fish weighed in between 20-30 lbs and we had one fish over 30 lbs which was 34.45 lbs for Team DMD,they won the Big Fish Pot of $200.
Team Reel Time consisting of Marty Green and Jeff Green picked up the win with 71.45 lbs besting Team DMD which came in 2nd with 68.70 lbs.

Fishing Creek Reservior 12-10-11 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 4th Tournament of the 2011/2012 season today{12-11} at Fishing Creek Reservior,SC..WE had 16 Boats and 33 paying anglers signed up to fish at the 7:00am Blast off.All were competing for a pot of $660 and a Big Fish Pot of $160..Conditions were 33 degrees at Blast off with a slight breeze and mostly cloudy skies.As the day went on the wind showed up pretty strong with 10-20 mph and gust probably to 25.In the end we had 14 of the 16 boats weigh in fish and the weigh was pretty close with no run away winner this time.Team Reelin the Blues took the win and closed the gap on Team Fat Cat in the points chase.Thanks to all who came out and fished today and all who placed in the money.Also a big thanks to Sam Funderburk{Dudley1]on a prize donation that Team Troller got by having the lowest weigh in total.

Lake Monticello 11-12-11 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 3rd tournament of the 2011/2012 season today[11-12-11} at Lake Monticello.We had 17 boats and 33 paying anglers show up to fish for a total pot of $660 and a Big Fish Pot of $170.Tempature at Blast was a chilli 29 degrees with a slight breeze.As the sun came up the wind increased and blew a steady 10-15 mph for most of the day.We had 12 of 17 teams weigh in fish at the weigh in.
In the end it was Team DMD with their 2nd win in a row at Monty with a good 3 fish stringer of 55.00 lbs.Congrats to them on their victory,Mike said 2 of their fish that they weighed were caught in the last 15 minutes of the tournament,that shows there that you should never give up until the bell rings.

Lake Wylie 10-22-11 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 2nd Tournament of the 2011-2012 Season today on Lake Wylie.We had 19 boats with 41 paying anglers.All were competing for a Pot of $820 and a Big Fish Pot of $170 as 17 of the 19 boats entered the Big Fish Pot.Conditions were very brisk this morning with a low of about 40 degrees.The weather man missed on the wind forcast as they were calling for light and variable but they were more like 10-15 most of the day.We had 17 of the 19 boats weigh in fish in the end.There were a few real nice Blues and Flatheads caught and a good many teeners.
In the end it was the strong Wylie Team of Team Kat Junkyz that pulled out the win over another strong Wylie team of Team Reelin the Blues.Both these Teams are hard to beat on their home waters.Congrats to them on a good show.

Lake Wateree 9-24-11 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club started our 6th season today on Lake Wateree,We had 30 boats/63 anglers show up to fish this morning.They were vying for a pot of $1260 and a Big Fish Pot of $290.Temps were nice and there was a slight fog over the water.Well the fog gave way to a thunderstorm about 8am and it didnt get better for an hour or so with a good steady rain,that burnt off and it stayed cloudy for a while then it got hot,sunny and humid for awhile until a few more showers moved in.The bite was good for many teams with catches in the 20+ range.The trophy fish didnt wanna come out and play too much today,there were some nice fish caught though with a few in the 30s and many in the 20s.
In the end we 19 of 30 boats weigh in fish.Team Miller put a whopping on eveyone today,they bested 2nd place of Team Fat Cat by 31.60 lbs...It was an impressive 3 fish weight by them as they culled many fish above 20 lbs.They were defiantely the class of the field today.Congrats to them and all the others who placed in the money.

Lake Wateree 5-7-11 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our last Tournament and Championship of the 2010/2011 season today.We had 25 boats with 50 paying anglers fishing today.It was a beautiful day with a slight breeze blowing throughout the day.The bite was pretty good for the most part and we had 20 of the 25 teams weigh in fish,all teams caught fish that I know of but 5 chose not to weigh.We had a total of 679.10 lbs of catfish weighed in today.
In the end Team Cat Hookers more that double the field with a great stringer of 105.50 lbs for their 3 fish total with 2 blues over 40 lbs weighed in for them,they also got big fish of the event with a 46.20 lb blue.The rest of the field was pretty tight after that great weigh in.

On the Points Championship Race it came down to 2 teams in the running to claim the title today.Both Teams[Team Reelin the Blues and Team Hawg Seekers} had an outstanding year and their effots throughout the season are to be comended.Team RTB had a 10 point lead coming in and was able to hold off the Hawg Seekers by 6 points to claim the title.
Team Reelin the Blues claimed the $483 Points Championship fund from the season and also a $100 Bonus put up by the Carolina Catfish Club if one of their members won the title.A special thanks goes out to the Carolina Catfish Club for their support of the series and their donation.

That was a great points battle for the initial season under the new points format.It is a good fit and we will keep it as is in the future.

Lake Wylie 4-17-11 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 8th and next to the last tournament of the 2010/2011 season today{4-17}.It was postponed from yesterdays scheduled day due to the Severe weather we had in the Carolinas.Forecast for today was much better and mother nature sure handed us a beautiful day.We had 18 boats show up today with 36 paying Anglers for a total pot of $720.WE had 17 of the 18 teams get in the Big Fish Pot and it paid out $170.
The bite was pretty slow for the most part and the big fish seemed to have took the day off to enjoy the weather also.Alot of teams reported catching big numbers of fish but no one could latch into 1 in the 20s.Overall we had 16 teams weigh in 394.10 lbs of Lake Wylie Catfish.We had a Team team up for the first time and it paid dividends for them with their first tournament win.Both guys are in their first season fishing with the club and we congratulate them on a job well done and a good victory for them.

That wraps it up for another tourney,the next one and last of the season will be our Championship Event on May 7,2011 at Lake Wateree.It is shaping up to be an exciting event with the points championship on the line.We will see if Team Reelin the Blues has got it in them to pull it out.
Lake Wateree 3-19-11 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 7th Tournament of the 2010/2011 season today{3-19-2011} at Lake Wateree,SC.. The weathermen were calling for a beautiful day and that favorable forecast brought out a new tournament turnout record of 41 Boats fishing today.We had 95 paying anglers and 6 kids fishing for a total of 101 participants.They were competing for a purse record of $1900 and a Big Fish record of $390.The weather turn out to be marvelous as predicted and the 41 boats set sail at 7:00am to see what they could do with Waterees catfish.Reports from the first part of the day were that the bite was very slow in some areas and good in other.The bite seemed to pick up thru the mid morning to early afternnoon.
In the end we had a grand total of 1098.35 lbs of Catfish weighed in,30 of the 41 boats weighed in fish.
Several real nice blues were brought to the scale with the biggest being a 42.85 lbs Blue that the winning team caught.

Fishing Creek Reservoir 2-19-11 Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 6th tournament of the year today[2-19-11] on Fishing Creek Reservoir.We had 25 boats competing today with 54 anglers.Anglers were competing for a pot of $1080 and a Big Fish Pot of $250.Weather was real nice except for a stiff wind that started around 9:00am and got stronger as the day progressed.Most teams took to drifting today with only a few teams electing to try the anchor bite.It turned out to be a close weigh in on this up and coming reservoir.Alot of teams reported catching big numbers of fish but just couldnt find the bigger blues and channels.Big Fish of the day came in at 18.15lbs and a total of 340.45 lbs of fish were weighed in.22 of 25 Teams weighed in fish.

Note:We had Teams tie for 2 positions,the points for the higher position goes to the Team with the single biggest fish.We had a few teams that didnt get weights on their biggest fish,it will be required at all tourneys from now on that you have to weigh your single biggest fish so there wont be any confusion.That was our fault that that was not done,it was an oversight trying to get 22 teams worth of fish weighed in a hurry.we apologize to the ones that were affected.As far as I can remember that is the first time that has happened in 4 years worth of tourneys and it happens twice in one tornament.
1-22-2011 Lake Wateree Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 5th Tournament of the year today{1-22-11}at Lake Wateree,SC.We had 31 Boats{67 Anglers} come out and fish today.Anglers were vying for a Total Pot of $1340 and a $300 Big Fish Pot.Conditions were Cold,Cloudy and a stiff wind to start and it lasted throughout the day.In the end we had 26 of 31 boats weigh in fish for a total weight of 833.45 lb of Catfish.There were some quality fish brought to the scales today.Thanks to all who came out and fished on a cold January day and congrats to all who place in the money.A special thanks also to Sam Funderburk{Dudley1} for donating a couple of prizes that we gave away at the weigh in.

12-11-2010 Lake Monticello Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 4th Tournament of the 2010/2011 Season today on Lake Monticello.We had 21 Boats show up to fish with 44 paying anglers and several kids.They were competing for a Total Pot of $880 and a Big Fish Pot of $210.Conditions were pretty good today with the exception of the Monty wind that seems to always blow.We had 17 of the 21 boats weigh in fish.We had a Total weight of 487.05 lbs of Catfish weighed in for the 21 Teams.We had some hawgs caught and we had a Team win there first event in the Catawba Series.Congrats to Team DMD on their first win.They said if I aint mistaken that they caught 33 Cats today with 20 of them going over 15 lbs,Cant beat that anytime,they were on em.

11-20-2010 Lake Wylie Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 3rd Tournament of the 2010/2011 Season today.We had 23 Boats fishing the event and Competing for $900 in Cash Prizes and a Big Fish Pot of $220.It was a beautiful day on Lake Wylie and some quality fish were brought to the scales.Fish were reported to be caught over the entire length of the lake with a very surprising number of quality Blues being caught on the Lower part of the lake.We had a Total of 447.55 lbs of fish weighed in from 18 weighing boats.I am pretty sure the 23 boat field is a record for a Lake Wylie Catfish Tournament.We hope the trend of more boats keeps on rising on Wylie,it is quickly becoming a great catfishery.

Next Tournament is on Dec. 11th at Lake Monticello,that promises to shake up the points for sure.We will see what the BIG Monty has in store.
10-23-10 Lake Wateree Tournament Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our 2nd Tournament of the 2010-2011 season today.We had 21 Boats show up to fish today.Total Payout was $960 and a Big Fish Pot of $200.Cool temperatures and a dense fog over the lake greeted us all at the ramp this morning.We delayed the blast off till 7:30 to allow a little more daylight to show up but the fog just got worse.We went ahead and cut everyone loose and we all creeped to our favorite spots.The Bite was fair for smaller catfish but the giant Blues wanted to play hide and seek today.A couple of teams managed good fish and it showed in the results with a big drop off in the weights.It turned out to be a great day on the water once the fog lifted.
In all we weighed in 462.85 lbs of fish out of the 21 boats,ALL teams weighed in fish today and that was a first I believe.
The new points system is shaping up to be a good one after only 2 events.It ought to be an exciting year to see how that plays out.We would like to thank everyone for coming out again and fishing the Catawba Events.

9-18-2010 Lake Wylie Results
The Catawba Catfish Club had our first Event of the 2010/2011 Season on 9-18-10.This was also the last Tournament of this past Season,we did this since we changed the format of our schedule and now run a Fall,Winter,Spring Schedule.We had 21 Boats show up with 44 Paying Anglers.The 21 Boat field was a new record for the Catawba Catfish Club on Lake Wylie,we had alot of teams come out and fish their first event here and we appreciate that.Wylie is coming on strong as a Trophy Catfish Lake and hopefully all the new comers will keep coming back at future tournaments.In the end though some of the Wylie Veterans came through with the Big Fish and the Win.The bite was pretty slow for the most part but some Teams caught some quality fish.Flatheads dominated the Top part of the field,we had 7 weighed in and the Big Fish of the night set a new record for biggest Flathead weighed in at one of the Catawba Catfish Club Tournament Trail Events.
