NC-Cats Rules

1. Teams must compete from a boat and must compete from the same boat.
2. Teams must leave by water at weigh-in site.
3. Trailering is allowed but can’t leave weigh-in site until blast off.
4. All NC-CATS Tournaments are catch and release.
5. All fish weighed must be alive.
6. Alive meaning gills or mouth must move under the fish's own power.
7. All fish weighed must be released.
8. Weigh Master, Tournament Committee and or Tournament Director will make a final decision on any fish if it is alive or dead. It is the sole responsibility of each team and every effort should be made by your team to keep your team’s fish alive up to being weighed in. Aerated coolers are recommended to help keep fish alive until being weighed in.
9. All fish must be caught by rod and reel with hook and line only.
10. No fish may be taken from trot, jug, limb line, or any commercial type fishing. There is no limit on the amount of rods and reels that any one person or team may use during NC-CATS tournaments.
11. No limit on persons that can fish as a team in the same boat.
12. Contestants may not fish within 150 feet of another contestant’s anchored boat.
13. A team limit of 3 fish maximum must be alive to weigh-in on all lakes except for Lake Norman where there will be a 2 fish maximum limit and on Lake Hickory where there is a 5 fish maximum limit.
14. Fish brought to scales by a team must be caught by that team in tournament waters during tournament hours.
15. Teams must be in weigh-in line no later than tournament ending time.
16. Weigh Master must be notified of your team’s arrival before ending time. Every effort will be made to keep fish alive. It is the sole responsibility of each team to keep their fish alive.
17. All rules and regulations of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission will be observed at all times. All North Carolina state laws will be observed. Any infractions of these rules and regulations will result in disqualification. ZERO TOLERANCE FOR CHEATING!
18. Any team having a member who fails or refuses to take a polygraph test or whose condition does not permit administration of a test because of contestant’s use of alcohol or drugs will be disqualified and that team will not be allowed to participate in any future NC-CATS events. The use of or display of any tobacco products in weigh-in line, on stage or during awards ceremonies is prohibited.
19. Wanton unsportsmanlike conduct may be grounds for disqualification if circumstances require. Decision of Tournament Director will be final.
20. All participants in NC-CATS events are subject to a POLYGRAPH TEST. Any team having a member who fails or refuses to take a polygraph test, that team will be disqualified and that team will not be allowed to participate in any future NC-CATS Tournaments. Any protest must be made to the NC-CATS Tournament Director before payout of tournament monies. All protests will be brought to the Tournament Director and the Tournament Director will call on the Tournament Committee and any decision of the Tournament Committee and or the Tournament Director is final. In case of a protest, no monies will be given out until a final decision has been made by the Polygraph Examiner, Tournament Committee and or Tournament Director. Decision of the Polygraph Examiner, Tournament Committee and or Tournament Director is final. Cost of the Polygraph Test will be taken from the purse monies of that tournament and then paid out to the places awarded for that tournament after a final decision has been made.
21. NC-CATS tournaments entry fee per boat/team is $40.00. A big fish pot of $10.00 per boat/team is already included in the tournament entry fee. NC-CATS tournament events are 100% payback to places awarded. Places awarded will depend upon number of boats entered. In case of a tie, the teams that tie will split the award for that place. NC-CATS is a not-for-profit organization. Cash only! No checks accepted!
22. NC-CATS officials will also be competing in tournaments and will adhere to any and all rules and regulations and are eligible to win any and all prizes of each NC-CATS Tournament. All prizes will be given away by random drawing at NC-CATS tournaments if available or otherwise noted. If any prizes are to be given away each team will be given a ticket with a boat or team number for that tournament and this number will also be your number in the random drawing for prizes for that tournament.

October 20th....Badin ..... First light to 3:00 p.m. Old Whitney access

November 17th....Tillery ......First light to 3:00 p.m. Swift Island access

December 22nd ..... Changed to belwett falls lake due to water dropping at badin

January 19th ......Badin lake ....First light to 3:00 p.m. Old Whitney

February 23rd .....Tillery ......First Light to 3:00 p.m. Swift Island access

March 22nd ......Badin....... 7:00 p.m. TO 9:00 a.m. Old Whitney

April 19th .......HighRock ......7:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. #8 Wildlife access

Here's the payout for each event:
~Less than 15 boats We will pay two spots on a 60/40 split
~More than 15 boats We will pay out 3 spots on a 50/30/20 split
~Big fish will be 100% big fish payout for each event.
~100.00 bonus to the first fish over 54.4lbs in a event.(one time deal for now)
RULES
1) Everyone will have to sign a waiver to compete in these events.(blanket waiver for the entire season)
2) No alcoholic beverages during any Yadkin Mastercatters activities
3) Rod and reel only
4) 2 fish limit
5) Blast off by water and return by water
6) Fish must be alive to get weighed in. (gills moving on it its own)
7) Must be in the weigh in line at 3.00pm for daytime events and 8:00 am on nightime events. Except Badin it will be at 9:00 AM. No excuses..you either there or you not...no late entries on weigh in.
8) No fishing within a 150 ft of another boat.
9) Obey all boating and safety regulations in accordance to NC state laws
10) Would like to advise all teams to wear life vest when under power of a gas engine.
11) Yadkin Mastercatters is not responsible for accidents or injuries at any tournament.
12) Safety and having fun is our main objectives, so lets keep it safe and let someone bring home the bragging rights.
13) Please bring correct change if possible.
14) Keep in mind there maybe other tournaments going on at the same time and this is something we cannot control.
15) No catfishing 12 hours prior to a event on that given body of water....you may catch bait (rod/reel or castnet)...but no catfishing rods in the water 12 hours prior to a event on that given lake.
16) The catfish have to be caught on the body of water fished, and caught with rod and reel during tournament hours, and on the day of the tournament.
17) This is a catfish only event
